Apple Widget — Global Privacy Policy
Effective / last updated: 24 August 2026
This policy explains, in plain language, what information Apple Widget stores on your device, what is processed by service providers, and what choices you have. It is written for the app as currently audited.
1. Who operates the app
Apple Widget is developed and operated independently by Shant Harbedian, an individual operator. Shant Harbedian decides how information described in this policy is handled. Contact details are in the Contact section at the end of this document.
Shant Harbedian is a personal name, not a company name.
2. Scope of this policy
This policy covers the Apple Widget mobile app, its widgets and extensions, and this informational website. It does not cover other apps you choose to share content into, or the app stores through which you may obtain the app.
If you are in the European Union or the European Economic Area, please also read the EU/EEA Privacy Notice, which contains the additional information required by the GDPR.
3. Information stored on your device
Most of what you create and configure in Apple Widget is stored on your device and, where the platform supports it, shared with the app's own widgets, extensions and paired Apple Watch. This includes:
- Scripture-topic and feed preferences
- Reminder, alarm, notification and timezone settings
- Favorites, history, streaks and collections
- Quote text and author names you create
- Bible highlights, private notes and reading position
- Prayer favorites and prayer progress
- Theme, font, color and widget settings
- Photos you select as backgrounds, and their local file paths
- Widget content and configuration
- Apple Watch synchronization data on supported Apple devices
- A randomly generated local support identifier used to reference support requests
Please note that widgets, Lock Screen notifications and Apple Watch displays can make selected Scripture or content you configured visible to anyone who can see your device screen.
4. Information processed through Firebase
The app uses Google Firebase services for analytics, crash diagnostics and content delivery. The following information is processed by those services:
- App launch events and days-since-install information
- The number of categories selected during onboarding
- The screen or source from which a paywall was opened
- The purchase-plan category, when purchasing is active
- Restore-purchase actions
- The category of a favorited or shared item and the share destination
- The Scripture topic or category selected
- Theme type and theme identifier
- App, device, operating-system and installation metadata generated by the Firebase SDK
- Crash reports and diagnostics, including stack traces and app, OS and device context
- Aggregate quote and theme popularity counters
- Requests to download quote and theme content
This information is not fully anonymous. Firebase generates app and installation identifiers, and analytics events are associated with them.
Some analytics parameters relate to Scripture topics and categories and may reveal or allow inferences about religious interests.
5. Permissions and actions you take
- Notification permission, used for daily reminders and the inspiration alarm.
- Photo-library access, used only when you choose a background photo or save an image you created.
- Your device timezone, used to schedule reminders at the right local time.
- Sharing you initiate through the operating system share sheet or an app you select.
- Support messages you send through your own email provider.
In the build audited for this document, the app does not use the camera, microphone, contacts or precise location, and does not create a user account or a remote user profile. This is subject to verification against each final release.
6. Subscription information once enabled
Apple Widget is intended to become a subscription app. Subscriptions are not active yet. When they launch, purchases will be processed by the applicable app store, not by Shant Harbedian and not by this website. Shant Harbedian does not receive your payment-card details.
8. Service providers
- Google (Firebase and Google Cloud) — analytics, crash diagnostics, content delivery and aggregate counters.
- Apple and the App Store — app distribution and, once launched, subscription processing.
- Google Play — only if Android subscriptions become available.
- A subscription-management provider such as RevenueCat — only if and when its use is confirmed as active.
- Apps you select as share destinations — they receive only the content you send them.
9. International transfers
The providers above may process information in countries other than your own, including the United States.
10. Retention
Content stored on your device remains until you delete it, reset the app's settings, or uninstall the app.
No retention period is published here until it has been verified in the provider consoles.
11. Security
Reasonable technical and organizational measures are used, including platform-provided app storage protections and encrypted transport to service providers. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and device-level protection such as a passcode remains important.
12. Your choices and rights
- You can change or remove your topics, favorites, notes, highlights, collections, quotes and background photos inside the app.
- You can turn notifications and reminders on or off in the app and in your device settings.
- You can revoke photo-library access in your device settings.
- You can reset advertising or analytics identifiers, and limit tracking, using your operating system's privacy settings.
- Uninstalling the app removes locally stored content from that device.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights, such as access, correction, deletion or portability. Write to the contact address below and your request will be handled in line with applicable law.
No in-app analytics consent switch or in-app deletion request tool is described here, because such a control has not been implemented in the audited build.
13. Children
Apple Widget is designed as a general-audience devotional app and is not directed at young children.
14. Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated as the app changes. The version number and effective date at the top of this page will be updated, and material changes will be highlighted in the app or on this website.
